With the Flow

As a dreamer, “mover & shaker”, business person, entrepreneur, mom, dad, student, etc. we often times get busy being busy.  Busy is not a bad thing.  However, even too much of a good thing can offer bad results.  Recently, it was pointed out to me that I excel at everything in life, but fail terribly at playing.  It was also brought to my attention that my habit of not turning my brain off is directly connected to my inability to allow myself the downtime necessary to restart, rejuvenate, and rev up my creativity.  I’ve found myself caught up WITH THE FLOW.  I’m caught in the flow that has taught me that work doesn’t include play and play is not work.  However, experience and wisdom are now teaching me that going WITH THE FLOW is necessary, but creating balance is no less important.

So to you I say go WITH THE FLOW.  The flow that is balanced and natural.  The flow that allows you time off to refuel after you’ve given all that you have away.  The flow that allows you to be late to just one event to play hide-and-seek with the kids or throw the football with the neighborhood children for 10 minutes.  What’s most inspiring about the flow is that you have control over how you go WITH THE FLOW.  As a result, I’ve decided that my flow will no longer allow me to sleep with my cell phone on and nearby.  My flow will allow me the time to reflect, play, and unwind.  My flow will now include a weekly bubble bath, a great glass of wine, and catching up with a good friend during which time I will laugh and enjoy the moment.  What are some suggestions that you have that I can use to go WITH THE FLOW?  How are you planning to adjust your flow?
